NOTE: This is a post in progress. Stay tuned!
1. What’s the deepest you’ve dove?
I am a certified Advanced Open Water (AOW) diver with a specialty in Deep Dive. This allowed me to go down to a depth of up to 130ft, which I have done a few times in Cozumel, Mexico, and Key Largo, Florida. I got my AOW and deep dive specialty in Key Largo, diving the USS Spiegel Grove Wreck. It’s a beautiful, well-preserved ship that was sunk in May 2022 as an artificial reef. Below is a short footage from that dive (pardon my heavy breathing, it was my first time going down to that depth). As you can see, the wreck is now covered by healthy corals with many different types of fish residing there! Fun Fact, there is a bull shark that is known to make an occasional appearance. I have only had the pleasure to meet him (or her) once. I can’t wait to go back to see if I can find him again.
Another one of my favorite deep dive locations is Santa Rosa Wall in Cozumel. It is an underwater wall that starts at about 50ft and goes down to 3,000+ ft.
2. If I’m afraid of the dark, do you think I’ll still enjoy diving?
Yes!
3. What’s the coolest sea creature you’ve seen in the depths of the waters?
4. Where is your next diving destination?
